Streaming endpoint sends per-batch progress so any N up to 10 000
will not idle-time-out the proxy. With the JAX/GPU backend
(auto-selected when N≥4) the entire population runs as one
vmapped XLA computation, so wall-clock at N=1000 is similar to
N=50 — pay the ~10 s compile once, then iterate. On the
CPU/Numba backend, runtime scales linearly so larger N takes
proportionally longer.
Realistic 24 h GFS error ≈ 10 %. Set 0 to disable
(back to deterministic-wind MC).
Parameter perturbations:
applied as Normal/TruncNormal draws around the values in the
Balloon Configuration. Leave a "± std" blank or 0 to keep that
field deterministic.
Typical handheld GPS error ≈ 1100 m. Set 0 to fix
the launch position exactly.
